"Bugalú" Cabin Cruiser

by Bruno
(Germany)

Here's my most recent built fresh off the shipyard. By expanding in a local printing shop your plans for a beginners' cabin cruiser, I just completed this 20.20 x 8.3 inches model. I used balsa wood for the hull and 1mm ABS plastic for the deck and cockpit. Slightly inspired by Bertram 31 Hardtop sport fisherman built from 60s to early 80s. It runs with a 2mm/M2 shaft, a 30mm 3-bladed propeller, a DC3-12V Johnson 380 brushed motor, a generic 50A (yes, 50A!) generic controller I found on Ebay, and a small NiMH (10.8v) battery. Very light and stable.

Those details sure make it look good and that abs makes it look like a real boat.

Details

I'm with you, Tom. Details most definitely add a lot to the modeling experience. I guess it has something to do with my wish of having one for real but not having the $$$ to throw into the water. :)

Thank you!

Thank you, Carl! The color came by a very fortunate accident and I tried to use as many leftover parts from other boats as possible.

Very nice. Great color choice and the sheen of the finish is beautiful.

Thanks for the inspiration. I build static models and go for interior detail.
