"Legal Limit" Express Cruiser

by Bruno
(Germany)

Original design "Express Cruiser" type boat. 19-inches long old home-made fiberglass hull built in UK in the 1970s and rescued from previous owner's garage. Model built during April-July 2015. Approx. 1/22 scale. Real life boat could be a 32-footer (9.75m) yacht. 3mm 9v LED navigation lights system. Runs with a Biao123 A2122 brushless motor paired to an MTroniks 15A speed controller, NIHM 10.8V small battery, 2mm shaft and a 30mm 3-bladed plastic propeller. This was a particularly challenging concept since I had no idea what I was looking for and it came out a bit heavy for its size plus the reduced below deck space factor. However, it proved very rugged and dependable.

Thank you!

Thank you, Carl! The paint job came by almost by accident. The hull was molded in orange and I almost went with that color. However, I saw the boats from the British volunteer rescue service and the Royal Yacht "Brittania"'s color scheme and decided to make it look as classy as possible.
