Nautilus

This is a scratch build from drawings and photos from the internet. Basswood was my principle material. It is 1:120 scale and measures 20 inches. The fun of scratch building is that you have to figure out everything yourself. The four domed windows are acrylic watch crystals. The lights are half pearls from a craft store. The hundreds of panel seams are craft wire. The grid on the deck is window screen material. Carving the thirty five rackers was a time consuming endeavor. This was so much fun. I have always enjoyed the design of this movie boat. When my grandson gets old enough it will be his.
