I have always been an admirer and fan of the USS Monitor and her genius designer, John Ericsson. A visit to the Monitor Center at the Mariners Museum in Newport News, Virginia, last fall inspired me to build a half hull model of the iconic ironclad. After much shopping around, I obtained the best drawings available from Building Model Boats. These plans are based on Ericsson’s original drawings in the Mariners Museum’s archives. The finished product looks great on my dining room wall. Thank you Petter for making these plans available.
